Sometimes I find it so easy to let my “used to be” (you know, the me without God) speak to who I am now.  I wallow in my shame, sadness and loss.  That’s not the greif that God desires for us or that Jesus made possible for us.  Again, that’s the old way and the [...]

I identify with God

Being spiritually alive means my soul is in union with God and I am identified with Him:

In death:

“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?” -Romans 6:3
“It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” -Galatians 2:20
“If you then have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Chris it, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died , and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” -Colossians 3:1-3

In His burial

“We are buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” -Romans 6:4

In His resurrection

“For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in resurrection like His…Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him… So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.” -Romans 6:5, 8, 11

In His ascension

“And raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places with Christ Jesus.” – Ephesians 2:6

In His life

“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by death of His Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by His life . . . More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” -Romans 5:10, 11

In His power

“And what is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His great might . . . that He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.” – Ephesians 1:19, 20

In His inheritance

“The Spirit Himself bear witness with our spirit that we are children of God . . . and if children, then heirs – heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.” -Romans 8:16, 17
“In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will . . . So that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of His glory.” -Ephesians 1:11, 12
